Sebastien Lanson — often with his group,
the Sebastien Lanson Trio — has performed world wide. In the U.S., Bay Area clubs have included The Beat
Lounge, Blue Bar at the Black Cat, Bruno’s,
Café du
Nord, The Cellar at Johnny Foley’s, Jazz at Pearl’s
and the Upstairs Lounge at the Fillmore Auditorium. The group
has also appeared in the Los Angeles area at jazz spots such as
the Brown Derby and the Knitting Factory.
Sebastien and his groups perform a variety of jazz styles, including
straight-ahead, organ grooves, funk, and standards drawn from the
Great American Song Book. They also introduce original material
at receptive venues, including innovative and experimental work
that showcases the talents of all members of the ensembles. Their
music is readily accessible to a broad range of musical tastes —
from swing and be-bop to intimate and sultry. Check out the music
